Since the beginning of May, I’ve been speaking almost nonstop at live events.
My unofficial speaking event tour kicked off in early May, when I spoke at the MEDA Annual Conference. Here’s our panel where we discussed how to find your unique perspective… what makes your business or organization special. 🙂
Shortly after, I led a three-hour workshop on the social media for the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. I took them through Facebook Live, and they even did a FB Live right then and there. It was a lot of fun helping the group get motivated and excited to try more Facebook Live videos on their own.
Then there was a local Rotary event, Vistage group event, and Facebook workshop for the Martinsburg Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce… and we’re just getting started!
A lot of times, our work is limited to the computer. On one hand, it’s amazing what’s available to us in the online world — like courses and resources right at our fingertips!
On the other hand, in-person workshops and events are a great way to learn in a more interactive way, network, and shake things up! Connecting with others face to face can be energizing, inspire new ideas, and be fun, too.
If you’d like a great opportunity to network, learn about new trends in economic development, and get inspired… I’ve got an invitation for you!
I’ll be speaking at the International Economic Development Council’s (IEDC) 2018 Economic Future Forum in Buffalo, New York from June 24-26, 2018.
IEDC is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization with a mission to serve economic developers. Over 350 senior economic development professionals are expected to participate in this year’s event.
I believe it will be a great opportunity to connect and expand our knowledge. Hope to see you at this event, or another event this summer. 🙂
‘Til next time,
Sandy
