A simple trick to kickstart a new routine

Recently, a colleague was sharing with me that she knew what she needed to do on social media, but was struggling to make it a priority.

A lot of times, things like social media can feel completely overwhelming. We get the idea that we need to go from 100 followers to 5,000 overnight, or that we need to be constantly churning out new content.

My suggestion is to find simple “tricks” to make social media a regular habit.

For example:

Make LinkedIn the home page on your desktop. Then, when you start your computer in the morning, spend 5 minutes liking posts, reading a few articles, and posting some blogs.

Every day, make it a habit and part of your daily routine to spend literally 5 minutes working on your LinkedIn presence.

Once you get accustomed to a few regular actions, you could take your “social media game” to the next level. For example, you could start sharing the same posts over on Twitter as well.

Through making a few very small adjustments in your schedule, you can create a successful routine.

So, what about you?

Do you have any favorite “hacks” to implement or start a new routine? Let me know by leaving a comment below!

‘Til next time,
Sandy
