Taking the Doom Out of the Zoom

Virtual Events
| | |

Her Zoom background was a deserted island, but it was the participants who couldn’t escape. Whether it was the meeting that could’ve been an email, or the colleague claiming he was “not a cat,” virtual gatherings became a mainstay in 2020 and 2021, and sometimes laughable ones at that.

Filter faux pas and mic mishaps aside, the economic development and tourism industries had to keep the creativity—and the business relief—flowing. Conferences, awards ceremonies, and meetings remained essential, but they had to be on point and engaging. Equipped with decades of event planning, agenda development, and public speaking experience, we took the doom out of Zoom.

Every client and venue demanded different tactics, so we gauged audience, content, and technology to come up with a winning approach. Our strategy incorporated the following:

  • Zoom Meeting or Webinar
  • Time of Day
  • Length of Presentation
  • Presentation Rehearsal
  • Q&A Trainings
  • Breakout Room Facilitation

By equipping clients with the training and technology to thrive, we kept the energy high and the takeaways on target. Afterward, clients repurposed events as content for web platforms, keeping the conversation ongoing.

While a virtual venue doesn’t require pants, it does demand dynamic content and presentation skills. As a PR firm with a broad base of clients, we have the strategy to Zoom initiatives forward.
