Position Overview:

The Director of Client Impact leads the delivery of PPR’s consulting and marketing work, ensuring exceptional client outcomes and measurable community impact. This role combines economic development expertise, strategic insight, and hands-on execution to guide client engagements, strengthen PPR’s consulting approach, and support organizational growth.

This is a working leadership role for a practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and is equally comfortable shaping direction and executing work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of economic development and place-based strategies for clients
  • Guide market positioning, stakeholder engagement, and growth initiatives
  • Oversee client engagements from discovery through implementation
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Conduct research, analysis, and strategic recommendations
  • Provide insight into economic development trends and market conditions
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and partners
  • Support business development and proposal development
  • Mentor team members and strengthen consulting capabilities
  • Develop and refine consulting methodologies and standards

Qualifications: 

Required

  • 5+ years experience in economic development, public sector consulting, or place-based strategy
  • Experience managing complex projects and client relationships
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution ability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills

Preferred

  • CEcD credential or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with economic development organizations or local governments
  • Consulting or professional services background
  • Marketing or place branding experience
  • Stakeholder engagement and facilitation experience
