PPR Strategies

Ever considered hiring a coach?

I recently had my final weekly session with a coaching & consulting client. We worked together every week for four months, and now we’ve shifted into monthly meetings.

I’ve been reflecting on what we’ve done during our time together so far.

We initially got started because there was a professional need for support she couldn’t get within her organization. With my skill set, I was able to be a sounding board, and someone she could confide in as needed. We could productively work on new approaches and outlooks to her work.

Here are a few of the solutions we came up with to her challenges:

  • Delegating to Team Members — She initially told me she didn’t think she was good at delegating. She wasn’t used to asking for help with little projects. So she would just do them herself. But all of those little to-do’s throughout the day can distract us from staying in our zone of genius. So we came up for a plan for delegating and as a result, she’s gotten help with projects and gotten a lot of items of her to-do lists.
  • Effective Communications Strategies — Together, we brainstormed effective communications strategies and different programs to put in place. We looked at what’s currently working, what needs to be improved, and the most effective strategies for reaching her goals.
  • Creating A Legacy — Have you ever considered what legacy you want to leave in your career or organization? What is the larger impact you want to make? That’s something we’ve been playing with the whole time. This idea has resonated and set with her and she’s reflected on it. She’s had some great a-has recently.
  • Personal Wellness — We’ve also focused on personal wellness, making sure she’s eating lunch, taking good care of herself, and fitting in some movement during the day.

She felt it was really helpful having someone to talk to and confide in. So often, people don’t have someone to unconditionally share both the good and the bad with, brainstorm with, or lean on for advice.

It’s amazing what can happen when you put two people together. We can make the changes and improvements that feel so overwhelming to tackle alone!
