Summer is here, and it’s one of the best times to explore West Virginia’s Mountains, and you’ll have the chance to do just that on Saturday July 13, 2013, when the Summertime in the Mountains Dinner Train kicks off.
This annual dinner train begins with a West Virginia food and Wine tasting, beginning at the charming South Side Depot in Petersburg, W.Va at 2 p.m.
Departure time is at 4:30 p.m. For two hours, the 1920’s refurbished Amtrak winds along the Southern Branch of the Potomac River, giving passengers a chance to take in all the mountains have to offer. The train stops at Moorefield, where it will turn around and make its way back to Petersburg.
Each year Grant County offers the Valentine Express Dinner Train, Springtime in the Mountains, Autumn Splendor Dinner Train and the Snowflake Express. Check out the Grant County Convention and Visitors Bureau for more events in Grant County, W.Va.
