It’s March…How Are Your New Year’s Resolutions Going?

On our first group call of the year, each PPR team member gave their top personal and professional goals for 2024. We don’t typically hear people talk about their New Year’s Resolutions past January so this year PPR Strategies is doing something different! To hold ourselves accountable and motivate each other (and you), we’re sharing our resolutions and how we’ve progressed these past three months.

Four themes appeared across all of our resolutions:

Amplify connection and boost collaboration: One request heard team-wide was to have more opportunities to connect with one another. Hanna asked for a monthly team lunch, and Mia more team building. Since our team is hybrid (some virtual, some in person) we are scheduling monthly Zoom lunches to enjoy genuine conversations, develop our connections, and “share” a snack with team members near and far. For Sophie, amplifying our connection comes in the form of fully utilizing our internal task-tracking system to keep the team up-to-date on deadlines.

Boosting collaboration with our clients and community is also a goal for the year. For Hannah, this means getting involved in local action committees. For others, it’s asking more ice-breaker questions to start client calls. Whatever form it takes, deepening relationships starts with leaning into moments for connection. Where can you “lean in” to bring your team together?

Stretch our skills and become even better marketers: Each team member has professional development goals in 2024. Kayla’s goal of working more with paid social media advertising is one she’s already diving into! Mia wants to take a professional development course, and Hanna is hosting a quarterly “lunch and learn” to share skills within the PPR team.

We’re motivated to evolve into our highest selves and maximize our collective superpowers to bring clients even better results! While self-improvement is a goal with no clear end, we improve with each step. The same is true for business. Setting one clear, actionable, and realistic professional development goal can progress the team’s skills and benefit your business and employees’ futures.

Manifest visions and flourish creativity: From a request for more PPR notepads to harnessing the power of mindfulness and creativity, the team is asking for what we want in 2024 (and making it happen)! We’ve set clear intentions for the business and ourselves. This is a daily, if not moment-to-moment, practice to step into each venture with positivity and a mindset of innovation.

For me, this means taking a course on manifesting and seeing what the power of openness and concentration can bring! I’ll keep you posted. 🙂

Remember self-care: As all travelers know, you must “put the mask on yourself before you can help the passengers around you.” We cannot take care of others if we don’t care for ourselves. The same goes for work…and life. For me, this means committing time to the gym and focusing on health and fitness. How are you incorporating self-care into your schedule?

Did you make a resolution this year? How is it going? Is there a project you told yourself you’d finish in 2024?

PPR can help you expand your capacity and eliminate roadblocks to propel you toward your goals. Let’s talk. Schedule a 15-minute consultation with us here.
