5 Ways to use the rest of your Fiscal Year Budget

It’s that time of year again: time to create your budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Along with that, you need to decide how to use the reminder of this year’s budget in the best possible way. With the June 30th deadline approaching, how can you use what’s left to set up next year for success?

This can be a great chance to put leftover resources towards smaller projects OR larger projects that you can continue working on in the fiscal year ahead. Here are a 5 ideas to consider:

  • Start the rebranding process. A rebrand can be a large project and investment, but you can get a head start by putting together focus groups and engaging stakeholders. By getting their input now, you can kickstart the rebrand process.

  • Update/upgrade your website and content strategy for the year. A great way to use remaining fiscal dollars is to do a review of your current website and find ways to update and refresh it throughout. And if you don’t have a newsletter content strategy for the rest of the year, now is a great time to map it out.

  • Gather additional photo and video assets. Fresh photos and videos of your community can spruce up your website and online content for all of the months to come.

  • Take a new approach to content creation. You could experiment with a new type of content creation, like creating youtube videos or a series of podcast interviews.

  • Interview businesses in your community for future blog content. Interview local businesses while they still have time to talk to you, rather than the summer when they’ll probably be overwhelmed. These interviews can become content for your website, newsletters, blogs, and social media.
